Ceramic Reconstruction

Duncraig Village Dental offer specialist ceramic reconstruction, or ‘CEREC’ dental restoration services, an advanced, yet relatively simply cosmetic dentistry procedure.

What is CEREC?

CEREC is an advanced method of creating a perfectly designed durable ceramic restoration.

What advantages does CEREC offer?

First and foremost, CEREC restorations can be performed in a single session, usually in about one hour, with no need to send scans or impressions to a lab, and ask you to return for a second visit.

Secondly, a CEREC restoration is natural looking, as it is made out of tooth-coloured ceramic material. CEREC restorations are metal-free; as to not discolour your smile, and the ceramic material is high-grade, anti-abrasive, plaque-resistant and compatible with tissue in your mouth.

How does CEREC work?

  • First, we clean and prepare the tooth for the CEREC crown or restoration to be placed
  • We then take a specialised photograph, or pin-sharp optical impression of the tooth
  • Computer Aided Design technology helps us design the restoration from this optical impression – you can actually watch us design your new CEREC restoration on a full-colour computer monitor right before your eyes!
  • The CEREC crown or restoration that we create will then be precisely placed, shaped and polished, restoring your tooth to its original shape, colour and function.

Over two decades of clinical research and experience supports our CEREC dental technology, with user input and research having helped the manufacturer improve the product during this period of time. Dentists around the world have now performed over four million CEREC restorations!
