Dental Implants
Do you have one or more teeth missing causing an embarrassing gap in your smile? Or do you have to avoid eating certain foods because of the lack of teeth with which to chew? Maybe you have a denture that moves when you talk or eat. Does your denture pinch your gum when you chew?
Modern dentistry has a solution for these and many more problems associated with missing teeth. Dental implants are now the most common option for replacing missing teeth.

What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a titanium anchor that fuses with the bone in a process called Osseo integration. Once this has occurred the implant or implants can be restored with a crown or a bridge. In many instances the result is imperceptible from natural teeth.
How long does the process take?
Osseo integration usually takes around 3 months after which time the restorative process can start. In some circumstances such as in the replacement of a front tooth a provisional crown can be employed during the Osseo integration process so that no impact on lifestyle or appearance occurs right up to the delivery of the final restoration.
How long do implants last?
For the majority of patients a dental implant is a permanent replacement for a tooth. 40 years of worldwide research has shown success rates of 85-98% depending on the location and use of the implant.
What type of problems can be solved with dental implants?
Dental implants these days can be used to replace most missing teeth, ranging from a single tooth, to a group of missing teeth through to a whole mouth.
Will I have to go without my tooth while the implant is integrating?
No. Often a provisional crown or bridge can be fabricated straight away. Other times a temporary denture may be needed. But rest assured there should be no need to go toothless at any stage.
