What is CDBS?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a government program that covers part or the full cost of some dental services for eligible children, up to $1,000 per child.

How often can I use CDBS?

The scheme allows for $1,000 of dental cover per eligible child over a two calendar year period.

Who is eligible?
  • CDBS is available for children between the ages of 2 and 17 years old

  • The benefit is available to those children who are eligible for Medicare

  • The family of the child must receive an applicable government payment, for example, the Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A).

What is covered?

A range of services can be provided under the CDBS including:

  • examinations

  • x-rays

  • cleaning

  • fissure sealing

  • fillings

  • root canals and extractions.

Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work, and cannot be paid for any services provided during a stay in hospital (including day surgery).

What if my child isn't eligible?

If your child isn't eligible for the CDBS, we encourage you to speak with our friendly team at Duncraig Village Dental and ask if any additional offers are available.
